How to get to Heaven
The most important thing in all the world is to know
where you will spend eternity.There is a lot of confusion in
people's minds as they try to understand how we got here, how
will we survive and then what happens to us when we die.(Luke
16:19-31)
The Bible is God's word to man, it reveals to us
who God is, where we came from, and how to live life here on
earth and then most importantly: "What happens to us when we
die"
The first step in your search for the truth,
should be the most important one. That is to get it settled
where you will spend eternity ! The other questions you may
have, can be found in the Bible later. Nothing is more important
than knowing where you will spend eternity, because sometimes
death comes unexpected or sudden. I have known people to die in
their sleep. I was a volunteer firemen for years, and I saw
several people burned to death in their sleep.
It will not matter in eternity whether you were
a Baptist, Methodist, Moravian ,etc. the only thing that matters
now or in eternity is whether you know how to get to heaven.
Just joining a church, being baptized, christening, trying to
live a good life is not enough to get you into Heaven.
There are many religions. many churches, but
only one way to Heaven, this fact is spoken in the Bible by
Jesus Christ in St. John 14:6, " Jesus saith unto him, I am the
way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but
by me. "
There are not many ways, there are not even
two ways to Heaven. There is only one way, and His name is
Jesus. The Bible gives us the way:
Why Do I need Jesus ? Romans 5:12
"Wherefore, as one man (Adam) Sin entered into the world, and
death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned:
(1) Because we all are sinners (Romans
3:23)
" For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God."
We are sinners by birth and by choice.
Adam and Eve the first man and woman became sinners by
disobeying God in the beginning (Genesis 3:12) Therefore, every
human being born into this world has a sinful nature (Romans
5:12) The sinful nature was passed down through them to
everyone.
(2) Because we are sinners, we are
condemned (Romans 6:23)
" For the wages (payment) of sin is
death."
"...it is appointed unto men once to
die, but after this the judgment." (Hebrews 9:27)
(3) God loved us so much he gave His
son, Jesus, to bear our sin and die in our place.
"He hath made him (Jesus) to be
sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in
Him. (2 Corinthians 5:21) Hebrews 9 & 10 explain how the
sacrifices were given in the Old Testament under the law.
"So Christ was once offered to
bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall he
appear the second time without sin unto salvation" (Hebrews
9:28) Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament Law and he was our
sacrifice, once and for all.
" God commendeth (demonstrated)
His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ
died for us." (Romans 5:8)
Although we cannot understand
how, God said my sins and your sins were laid upon Jesus and He
died in our place. He became our substitute, our sacrifice.
(4) To be able to go to Heaven,
we must do what the Bible says-
Acts 16:30-31, the jailer ask
Paul and Silas, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved ? And they
said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be
saved. "
Simply believe on Him, put your
faith in Him, as the one who bore your sin, died in your place,
was buried, and whom God resurrected from the dead. His
resurrection powerfully assures us that we can claim everlasting
life when we receive Jesus as our Savior.
St. John 1:12- "But as many as
received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God,
even to them that believe on His name.
Romans 10:13- "For whosoever
shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" Right now,
wherever you are, pray to God. In Luke 18:13, this man prayed, :
"God be merciful to me a sinner. " Just pray something like
this:
Dear God, I know I am a sinner,
I need to be saved. I believe Jesus died for me on the cross. I
believe He shed His blood for me. I now receive Him as my
savior, please forgive me of my sins. Thank you for saving me
and for forgiving me of my sins. Please help me to live for you.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Salvation is by faith. Believe,
and you will be saved. This is how we get to Heaven. (St. John
3: 1-18) Joining a church will not save you, being baptized will
not save you, doing the best you can will not save you.
Remember, God does the saving.(Ephesians 2:8,9)
I John 5:13, "These things have
I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God;
that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may
believe on the name of the Son of God. "
Now, do not think you have to
have a special feeling. We are not saved by our feelings, but,
by faith.
After you are saved, there are 3
things you need to do.
1. Learn to pray-you talk to
God.
2. Read your Bible- you will
learn about God
3. Go to church- get baptized,
and join the church
