Gary Styers started our church in March 1978, in the "Little
Miss Robin Daycare" at Walkertown. He grew up in the Gospel
Light Baptist Church of Walkertown, NC
and was saved there in 1973, as an eighteen year old teenager.
Gary and his wife left Gospel Light in 1973 to help his father
in law start a church in Kernersville, NC. Gary served that
church by serving in the many various offices and later as
Assistant Pastor after he surrendered his life to the ministry.
It was difficult to leave his father in law whom he loved very
much, but, after much prayer our pastor felt it was time to
begin Liberty Baptist.
Through the years our pastor has studied at Piedmont
Bible College Night School and numerous correspondence courses
on the Bible. He has taken several counseling courses to help
him in his counseling of our church members.
The Lord has enabled the Liberty Baptist Church to
build four buildings, and in 2003 we renovated our sanctuary,
bricked our buildings and paved our parking lot. We are planning
for the future which we believe includes building a new
sanctuary and increasing our parking.
Liberty Baptist Church is a friendly church with
loving people that believes in obeying the great commission of
winning souls all over the world through supporting
missionaries, the Internet web sites and by broadcasting
by radio and over the Internet. Our church has door to door
visitation every week. We also offer a Bible teaching emphasis
through our Sunday School and pulpit ministry. Our revival's
feature Evangelist's that build up believer's through sound
Bible preaching.
